Just because you’ve hit your seventies, doesn’t mean your love life is over.  And few people characterise this more vividly than 76 year old Japanese Porn Star Shigeo Tokuda, a man spearheading the so-called ‘Elder Porn’ phenomenon in Japan.

This unique niche of pornography typically features at least one actor or actress in their seventies or over. Its target market is both older porn watchers and watchers of older porn.

Perhaps the most famous of all Elder Porn stars, Shigeo Tokuda has now starred in a staggering 350 skin-flicks, titled things like “Forbidden Elderly Care”— and this is despite suffering a heart-attack three years ago, and purportedly having kept his moonlighting as elderly pornstar secret from his family!

This acquisition of cult status amongst the actors and actresses has been of the unexpected spin-offs of the Elder Porn phenomenon: unlike younger actresses, they don’t pass their ‘use-by date’ as quickly and have more time to acquire this unique celebrity status.

According to the producers of Elder Porn, its target market has more than doubled over the last decade, amount to a whopping 30% of the overall Japanese porn market.

It’s Not All Over

A 2010 University of Chicago study, published in the British Medical Journal, gives the lie to the myth that getting older means getting less sex.

Surveying over 3000 people, the study found that even in the 75-85 year old age bracket around half of all men reported still enjoying a healthy sex life.
