Testosterone Patches Restore Libido
New Australian research has found Testosterone patches can help boost sex drive in post-menopausal women.
The study’s results showed that a patch delivering 300mg of Testosterone daily resulted in significant improvements in sexual function amongst its participants, post-menopausal women with low libido.
The findings were significant as they are the first in the world to show this direct benefit to sexual wellbeing in women via a Testosterone skin patch.
Previously it was thought Testosterone would only assist women already receiving hormone replacement therapy, in the form of estrogen.
And while in some a few side effects were reported, such as slight facial hair growth, all women reported they were minor enough that they were far outweighed by the benefits.
Big Increase in Sexual Satisfaction
Initially, the women participating had reported only 50% of the sexual episodes they experienced were satisfactory.
After 24 weeks, those women who had been receiving the treatment reported this has increased massively to 78%.
Overall, these results present a very positive finding. The researchers noted that whilst women often worry about the effects of Testosterone, it’s important to remember that it’s also an essential hormone in the female body as well as the male. In fact, many post-menopausal women are like to have more Testosterone than Estrogen in their bloodstream.
