The police of Kwara, East Nigeria, are dedicated crimebusters. So dedicated, even turning yourself into a goat won’t get you far. Just ask the latest hapless crook.

Failed Carjacker

Botching his getaway after an attempted carjacking, a desperate local crim resorted to shapeshifting into a goat. After spending some time examining the animal, zoological experts concluded he was indeed now indistinguishable from a common, pied goat. Local police weren’t going to have the wool pulled over their eyes by this stunt however, and the animal was soon in their custody. Says veteran Kwaran detective Bukola Gamboye:

“I can assure you this is nothing new. We have seen plenty of this sort of thing before, and we in the police are not impressed by it. In fact, after twenty long years of service, let me tell you that this type of routine is the least of it. I am not kidding.”

Close Surveillance

The detective went on to claim that the criminal would be kept under close scrutiny, in case he attempted to employ further black magic, turning himself into some creature well suited for jailbreak attempts.

“Sure. He is happy to act innocent enough,” Gamboye asserted. “But you ask him anything–anything you like–and I guarantee you: you will not get one straight answer out of him. He will refuse to say a single word.”

The goat could not be reached for comment.
