Cheating Guys

How can you tell if you man is faithful? There must be lots of women asking that question after another couple of nightmare cases of supposedly model husbands caught cheating.

The most recent to fall from grace was Aussie cricketer Dean Jones, who’s been stripped of his 2007 Father of the Year title after revelations he had a nine-year-affair which ended  with his air hostie girlfriend falling pregnant with a son – now 11 months old – that he’s never seen. Jones has been married to wife Jane for 24 years and has two daughters with her, Phoebe, 19, and Isabella, 14.

The Father of the Year organisers took a dim view of his two-timing: “To take off and have a love child, and that he hasn’t even seen the child … We are somewhat rocked by it. What sort of fathering is that?” one asked.

You could wonder.

Secret Lover Claims

And then there’s Liza, the self-acclaimed secret lover of slain multi-millionaire Herman Rockefeller, who stands in line to make a claim on the $400 million estate he’s left behind without any will to protect it.

At the time of Herman’s very sad and seedy end in a “swinger’s scene’ that went badly wrong, his wife described him as a strong family man, with two teenage children and had a very public involvement in his local church.

Liza has a rather different view; in an interview with the Herald Sun she claimed he was her “soul mate” and she “the love of his life.” His marriage was a sham, and he a “pretty sad and lonely person.”

Family Shamed

You just have to ask what were these men thinking? Didn’t they ever stop to reflect on what their secret lives would do to their children, let alone their wives, if they ever came to light, as they almost certainly are likely to be in these days of intense exposure?

When they sat down to dinner did they ever look into the trusting eyes of their supposedly nearest and dearest and shudder to think of the possibly unrepairable hurt and damage they were wreaking?

What made them think they could get away with it? Any ideas? And are they any guarantees something like it won’t happen to you?
